First Network American Center Paris 1981


(Participation at a performance of digital images transmision between MIT (Boston) and the American Center (Paris), created by Aldo Tambellini and Don Foresta - Paris, 1981)

At the time of my visit to MIT during the summer of 1980, I met aldo Tambellinni, who invited me to participate in a premiere performance in Paris: transmission and reception of digital images between Paris and Boston with slowscan process.

Some images of politicians were sent as fragments, and the transmissions were often disturbed by various errors, breaking of connections, a forest of cables...

This was the first experiment in real time, with many difficulties in mastering all the electronic systems and with the incredible enthusiasm of the team.

The artist must often become an electronic plumber of genius!
